My first art love was dry pastel, a velvety medium combining the tactile immediacy of drawing with the rich colour and layering aspects of painting. More recently, I have focused on oils, frequently working on location. I’m inspired by all genres: still life, landscape, urban scenes, portraiture. The ethereal quality of light is always the main subject of my work. After living in and enjoying the unique beauties of Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, and painting in many other idyllic settings, I’ve found my artist’s paradise here in Prince Edward County where the little towns and countryside endlessly inspire.
