For my first twenty years as a painter I worked almost exclusively in watercolours, educating myself by studying the paintings of other artists, and aspiring to create paintings as interesting and as skillful as those by the artists I admired. Increasingly I began experimenting with different materials and techniques, such as painting with red wine on watercolour paper and using watercolours on plastic. In recent years I’ve turned to painting in oils, giving me a wider range of media with which to express myself and broadening my artistic ambition.
