Greetings from AOMG Chair
Our final show of the year looks set to sparkle. Few gifts are as special as a locally created work of
art, and our 30 artists are pulling out all the stops to ensure there is something special for all art
lovers and collectors this Christmas at our Arts on Main Gallery.

It's not just sparkling jewelry, stained glass or bright paintings that are lighting up the town this
winter, the Olympic Torch is coming to Picton on December the 15th as it journeys across Canada
on route to Vancouver and the Olympic games. Arts on Main Gallery artists will be featuring in a
large display of local art at the nearby Crystal Palace - and of course the gallery will be open every
day except Christmas and Boxing Day, 10am - 6pm

And finally thank you all for making 2009 a successful year at AOMG, have a Shiney, Bright and Art
filled Christmas, and we look forward to showcasing our art to you in 2010.

Artist Gerry Putman has been selected to be one of Canada's Olympic Torch bearers in Prince
Edward County. To be a part of something, not only National but indeed International, is something
he is very proud of and the fact that he is carrying the torch in his own community is a marvelous
bonus. Congratulations Gerry!

Our Captain Retires!
Ann Wood has been instrumental in the development and progress of Arts on Main Gallery from
the start, and recently many of the members honoured her at a luncheon at Blumen Restaurant as
she announced her retirement from gallery activities, as she pursues other life goals, including
painting!

Ann had this to say about the gallery:
"Arts on Main Gallery has changed the face of Main Street Picton and has succeeded in defying
the fate of many upstart artist-run galleries. When we opened our doors 2 ½ years ago the public
saw a wonderful new space dedicated to showcasing and selling artwork produced by a diverse
and talented group of Prince Edward County artists. Much of our success has been due, in part, to
the wonderful economic support of PELA CFDC and our extraordinarily generous landlord, Alan
Gratias. Without this munificence, Arts on Main Gallery would not have been transformed into
such an extraordinary venue for the arts community.
We are fortunate to report that the gallery has been successful from the moment the doors
opened, even through this most recent downturn in the market. For this we must thank all our art
loving collectors, now proud owners of PEC artwork. Last, and certainly by no means least, the
success of Arts on Main Gallery is a reflection of all the hard work of the members artists, who
shared the vision and worked long and hard to make it happen.
I will always be grateful for this experience; to build something special and to meet so many
wonderful, talented artists living in the County".

And from the AOMG artists, we are most grateful for all her hard work and dedication to the artists
in Prince Edward County!
