CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME It certainly is starting to feel like Spring with Sunny Days and the snow melting away, a perfect excuse for a trip to 'The County.' Winter has been a very busy time for the gallery and its artists and we are pleased to announce a number of new projects and partnerships. Firstly we have agreed a two year wine sponsorship for our Salon evenings with Black Prince Winery, the first Salon night being highly successful. We are also in the final planning stages with our lighting sponsor Lumicrest and PELACFDC (Prince Edward / Lennox & Addington Community Futures Development Corp.) of a project to convert the gallery lighting to LED lighting which will reduce our hydro consumption by about 80%. AoMG will also be featured in the Spring edition of the County and Quinte Living Magazine, and keep a look out for information on a community art event we are hosting called 'Paint The County' with primary sponsor Black Prince Winery and assistance from Prince Edward County Arts Council. Steven Draper AOMG ARTIST HAPPENINGS AOMG artist Amelie Koning's month of February 2010 was spent working on a large commission from OC Transpo in Ottawa for another 200 handpainted silk scarves which are worn by the female operators of the Ottawa transport system.
