Viola Michalski Joins Arts ON Main
Viola Michalski – new AOMG Potter/Sculptor
Viola's pottery is another departure in a creative path that began with her girlhood on a farm in the
Northumberland  Hills of Ontario. There Viola was taught to draw by her father Louis Michalski. She
spent her teenage years in Port Hope and most of her adulthood in the Cabbagetown
neighbourhood  of Toronto. There she personally renovated a Victorian house that she operated for
many years as one of Toronto’s most charming B&B's. Along the way Viola has designed
everything from clothing to home interiors.
Viola has been drawn back to country life. She acquired an old farmhouse, built in 1860 in Prince
Edward County which she has spent many hours restoring in her creative and innovative style.
Viola now brings her strong creative style to her pottery and sculpture. She has built on her training
with Terrie MacDonald and Antonia Campbell and developed a body of work with her own individual
stamp.
Viola's work is available in Picton not only at Arts on Main, but at Gilbert and Lighthall, and in
Toronto at Cabbage Town Festival On my Lawn, 68 Winchester Street.
